Notifications

PulseLMS keeps you posted through an in-app bell and optional email, so you never miss an assignment, deadline, or completion.

The notifications bell

The bell icon sits in the top bar on every screen. A number badge shows how many unread notifications you have (it reads 9+ once you pass nine). The bell refreshes on its own while you work, so new items show up without a page reload.

Click the bell to open your notifications panel:

  • Each notification shows a title, a short description, and how long ago it arrived.
  • Unread items are highlighted.
  • Click any notification to open the thing it's about, for example the assigned course or your new certificate. Doing so marks it read.
  • Click Mark all read to clear the unread count in one step.

What you'll be notified about

Notifications are sent for the events that matter to your learning, including:

  • A course is assigned to you
  • A course is due soon
  • A course becomes overdue
  • You complete a course
  • A certificate is issued to you
  • An attempt reset you requested is approved

Email notifications

By default, PulseLMS also emails you about new activity so you stay informed when you're not signed in.

No email while you're active

You won't get an email for something you've already seen in the app. If you're actively using PulseLMS, notifications stay in the bell rather than filling your inbox.

Turning email on or off

The quickest way is the bell menu:

  1. Click the bell to open the panel.
  2. At the bottom, find Email me about new activity.
  3. Tick the box to receive emails, or untick it to stop them.

In-app notifications keep working either way; the toggle only affects email.

Choosing which emails you get

That box is all-or-nothing. To keep some emails and drop others, open My Account in the sidebar and use Email notifications, where each category switches on and off separately:

  • Assignments
  • Due dates and reminders
  • Grades and progress
  • Certificates
  • Course activity
  • Discussions

Muting a category only stops the email. Everything still arrives in the bell, so you never lose the record of what happened.
