title: PulseLMS Documentation description: Multi-tenant learning management system: course authoring, delivery, compliance, and certificates.
PulseLMS Documentation¶
Author, deliver, and prove training, all in the browser
PulseLMS is a multi-tenant learning management system hosted at learn.mypulsetech.com. Your organization signs in with single sign-on, authors block-based lessons and interactive video, assigns them to people and teams, and issues verifiable certificates, with notifications, reporting, and a partner API to tie it into the rest of your stack. Nothing to install: it runs on any modern browser.

What PulseLMS does¶
For learners¶
- Dashboard & My Learning: assigned and in-progress courses, due dates, and what to do next, all in one place.
- Catalog & programs: browse published courses with ratings and reviews; work through programs whose courses unlock in sequence.
- Rich lessons: block-based content (text, images, files, audio, embeds, callouts) and interactive video with captions, chapters, and playback speed.
- Quizzes: knowledge checks and graded assessments, with retakes where the author allows them.
- Notes, bookmarks & discussions: capture notes against a lesson, bookmark where you left off, and ask questions in course discussions.
- Achievements & certificates: earn points, streaks, and badges, and collect verifiable certificates that anyone can check by serial.
For authors¶
- Authoring Studio: build courses from reusable blocks and organize them into lessons and modules.
- Video studio: upload video, add VTT captions/transcripts, mark chapters, and enable playback-speed controls.
- Quizzes & question banks: write questions once, reuse them, and configure security options and retake rules.
- Programs: chain courses into ordered paths with prerequisites and automatic unlock.
- Publishing: snapshot a version and attach publish notes so learners see exactly what changed.
For admins and managers¶
- People, teams & roles: invite members, assign roles, group people into teams, and give managers team-scoped visibility.
- Assignments: assign courses and programs to individuals, teams, or roles, including recurring compliance retraining.
- Reports v2: learner transcripts, team rollups, quiz item-analysis, and time-range filters, on demand or scheduled by email.
- Compliance: require e-signature attestation on mandatory courses and run certificate expiry + recertification cycles.
- Branding & editions: white-label the workspace and run either the Enterprise or Community edition.
For integrators¶
- Notifications: an in-app bell plus branded transactional email.
- Webhooks: HMAC-signed event delivery for enrollments, completions, certificates, publishes, and program completions.
- Partner API: a per-tenant, API-key REST surface with read scopes and
enroll:write, documented by OpenAPI and Swagger. - Enterprise SSO: SAML/OIDC federation through the shared Keycloak, with JIT provisioning. See the admin integrations guide.
Roles at a glance¶
PulseLMS has six roles. Most people are learners; a few author content or administer the organization.
| Role | What they mainly do |
|---|---|
| Learner | Take assigned courses, quizzes, and earn certificates. |
| Instructor | Grade and support learners in their courses; nudge. |
| Author | Create, edit, and publish courses, quizzes, and programs. |
| Manager | See and assign training for their team; run team reports. |
| Org admin | Full control of the organization: people, settings, compliance, integrations. |
| Platform admin | Cross-organization platform operations. |
See the role and permission matrix for the full breakdown.
