Server Console & Moderation

The ER:LC Server Console is where staff run your ER:LC server from the CAD. Open it from Open server console on the ER:LC card on your community hub. Supervisors, admins and owners can use it.

Two things sit at the top of every tab:

  • The server strip: server name, players, on duty and queue counts, the server code with Join server, Post "server is up", and (admins and owners) Settings, which opens Admin, ER:LC.
  • The command bar: run any ER:LC command from here (see The command bar).

Below them are seven tabs:

Tab What it is for
Live The live map, roster, recent activity, plate lookup, body cams and scheduled messages
Players Look anyone up and act on them, or list everyone banned
Mod calls Calls for a moderator, waiting or answered
Record Everything staff have done
Logs Joins, kills, commands, mod calls and alerts, kept for 90 days
Staff In-game staff on now and their hours this week
Stats Players over the week, the busiest hours, new and returning players, and the most played

Commands need the owner's approval first

Anything the CAD sends to your server (messages, jail, kick, ban, commands) only works once the server owner has authorized PulseCAD in Admin, ER:LC, step 4. Notes don't need it.

Joining the server

The hub card and the console's Live tab show your private server's server code and a Join server button. The button opens Roblox straight into your server, no code typing needed. Click the code to copy it.

Only members who work a terminal (law enforcement, dispatch, fire/EMS, tow), admins and owners see the code.

Staff can also press Post "server is up", which posts the server name, player count and a Join server button to the channel you chose for it (see Server management). It can be posted once every 10 minutes.

Players

Search by Roblox username or Roblox ID. The list shows:

  • In the server: everyone playing right now, with their callsign or team.
  • Seen before: anyone who has been in your server since it was connected to PulseCAD. Without a search, it shows the last day.
  • Never in this server: if nobody matches, PulseCAD looks the exact username up on Roblox, so you can still open a profile, and ban them before they ever join.

A red hammer and number next to a name is how many warnings, jails, kicks and bans that player has on record. Clicking a player on the Live tab's roster opens their profile here. Switch the list to Banned to see your server's ban list; open a banned player to unban them.

The player profile

  • Roblox account: avatar, display name, Roblox ID and the date the account was made. Accounts under 30 days old are marked New Roblox account.
  • Right now: whether they are in the server, their team and callsign, wanted level, permission level and postal. Banned shows if they are on your server's ban list.
  • Totals: punishments on record, joins, kills, deaths and mod calls placed.
  • CAD account: if their Roblox account is linked to a CAD account in your community, who they are, whether they are on duty, and their characters.
  • Moderation record and In the server: everything staff have done to them, and everything they have done in the server.

Taking action

Action What happens in game Reason Who
Warn The player gets your reason as a private message Required Supervisors and up
Message The player gets your message as a private message None Supervisors and up
Jail The player is sent to jail Required Supervisors and up
Kick The player is removed and can rejoin Required Supervisors and up
Ban The player is removed and cannot rejoin until unbanned Required Admins and owners
Unban The player can join again Optional Admins and owners
Note Nothing. Only staff see notes Required Supervisors and up

While a player is in the server, their profile also has one-click Make wanted, Clear wanted, Heal, Refresh, Respawn and Kill (Kill asks first).

Every action goes on the record with your name, the reason and the time. Admins and owners can Clear a warning, jail, kick, ban or note: it stays in the history, crossed out with who cleared it and when, and no longer counts against the player (including the automatic re-kick). If the server rejects a command (it is empty, the owner hasn't authorized PulseCAD, or no server key is set), the action is still recorded and marked Failed with the cause, so a ban that didn't happen never looks like one. ER:LC takes about one command every 5 seconds; if you go faster, you are asked to wait.

Mod calls

Mod calls from the last two days in two lists, Waiting for a moderator and Answered (with who answered). The tab shows how many are waiting from the last hour that nobody has taken.

Press Claim to take one. The caller gets a private message that a moderator is on the way, and the call shows who took it, so two staff don't both go. You can also claim from the Claim button on the mod call's Discord post, with /erlc modcalls, or by typing ;claim in game.

Moderation record

Every moderation action, newest first. Filter by action, search by player, staff member or reason, and choose From the CAD, In game or Automatic.

  • Kicks, bans, unbans and jails typed in game are picked up from the server's command log and recorded under whoever typed them.
  • Things PulseCAD did by itself (see Server management) show as PulseCAD, automatically.
  • Admins and owners can Clear entries here too.

The command bar

Type a command at the top of any tab, like kick or h (the : is already there). As you type:

  1. It suggests matching commands. Press Tab or click one to fill it in.
  2. For a command that takes a player, it then suggests the players in your server (or, for :unban, the ban list) with their team and callsign. Keep typing to narrow it, use the arrow keys, and press Tab, Enter or click to fill the name in.
  3. The line under the bar shows the command's arguments, with the one you are on highlighted.
  4. Press Enter (or Run) to send it. An optional reason goes on the record with it.

Every command is recorded with your name. Commands lists every command that works from the CAD, grouped by who may run it; click one to put it in the bar.

Who Commands
Supervisors and up :h :m :pm :kick :jail :wanted :unwanted :heal :kill :refresh :respawn :tp :pt (peace timer) :prty (priority timer) :time :startfire :stopfire :stopdumpsterfire
Admins and owners :ban :unban :mod :unmod :helper :unhelper :weather :loadlayout :unloadlayout :shutdown
Owners :admin :unadmin

:ban and :unban accept a Roblox user ID as well as a name. Commands aimed at all or others, and commands not in the list, need an admin. Commands that only act on whoever types them in game (:to, :view, :tocar and the like) are left out because they do nothing from the CAD.

Server logs

Joins and leaves, kills, commands, mod calls and alerts, searchable and filterable. ER:LC itself only keeps the last hundred or so of each; PulseCAD keeps them for 90 days from when your server was connected. The moderation record is kept for good.

Undo a mass ban. When someone runs :ban all or :ban others, PulseCAD records who was in the server, whether or not the staff alert is on. Admins and owners get an Undo ban button on that alert, which unbans everyone it hit (about 5 seconds each) and records each unban under their name.

Stats

  • Players, last 7 days: the peak number of players each hour.
  • Busiest hours: average players by weekday and hour over the last 4 weeks, in your own time zone.
  • New and returning players: per day for the last 14 days. New means it was their first day in your server.
  • Most played: players by hours in the server over 7 days, 30 days or all time. Hours also show on each player's profile.

Every chart has Show as table. Stats and playtime count from V1.21.12 onward.

Discord: /erlc

In a Discord server linked to your community, supervisors and up (with their Discord linked to their CAD account) can run the server from Discord. Replies are only visible to you; the moderation log channel is the public record.

Command What it does
/erlc players Who is in the server, by team
/erlc lookup player Record, playtime, account age and linked CAD account
/erlc warn, jail, kick player reason The same as on the console, reason required
/erlc ban, unban player Admins and owners
/erlc modcalls Waiting mod calls, each with a Claim button
/erlc run command Any command, checked against your role like the command bar

Player names are suggested as you type. /erlc uses the Discord commands in your plan, like /duty.

Server management

The Server management tab of Admin, ER:LC (it appears once a server key is saved; the setup steps are on the Server setup tab) holds automations for your server. Each one is off until an admin turns it on. Anything that removes a player is recorded on the moderation record as done by PulseCAD.

Discord posts

Three ER:LC posts can go to Discord. Pick a channel for each under Admin, Discord, Alerts:

  • ER:LC moderation log: every warn, message, jail, kick, ban, unban and note, from the CAD, in game or automatic.
  • ER:LC staff alerts: the alerts below.
  • ER:LC server is up: with a Join server button.

They are off until you route them, so they never land in a public channel by accident. Announce when the server is up posts the server-is-up message on its own when players come back after the server sat empty for 20 minutes.

Teams

  • Emergency teams need CAD duty: players on the teams you pick (Police, Sheriff, Fire, DOT) must be on duty in the CAD with a matching department (Police and Sheriff: law enforcement; Fire: Fire/EMS or EMS; DOT: Tow/DOT), with their Roblox account linked. Anyone else gets a private message, then either a reminder every 5 minutes or a kick after the grace period you set. You can leave in-game moderators and admins alone.
  • Limit liveries to on-duty units: when someone drives a vehicle whose livery or name contains your text (for example LCPD) without being on duty in that department, they get a private message and staff get an alert. ER:LC cannot take a vehicle away remotely.

CAD records act in game

Each is its own switch, and each only works when the record's character belongs to a CAD account whose linked Roblox player is in the server at that moment:

  • Arrest report jails the player: filing an arrest report runs :jail.
  • Warrant makes the player wanted: an arrest or bench warrant in force runs :wanted; serving, recalling or expunging it runs :unwanted.
  • Citation messages the player: filing a citation sends them a private message with the citation number.

A record only ever acts once. Drafts do nothing.

Staff alerts

  • Commands on everyone: someone runs a command like :kick all or :kill others.
  • Commands from people who are not CAD staff: someone runs a moderation command in game but is not a supervisor, admin or owner in the CAD (or has no linked CAD account). The server owner is never flagged.
  • Kill sprees: a player not on an emergency team kills the number of players you set within the minutes you set.

When players join

  • Kick players who rejoin after a kick, within the minutes you set.
  • New Roblox accounts younger than the days you set: alert staff, or kick them.
  • Welcome message: a private message to everyone who joins. {name} becomes their username.
  • Ban appeal link: sent to a player just before a ban from the CAD, and shown in the moderation log.

Staff

Track staff shifts records time in the server for everyone with in-game moderator or admin permission. The Staff tab shows who is on now and each person's hours over the last 7 days.

Weekly staff report posts each staff member's hours, moderation actions and mod calls for the week to Discord (route ER:LC weekly staff report under Discord, Alerts), on the day and hour you pick in your community's time zone. Set a minimum to flag anyone under it. Hours need staff shift tracking on.

Custom commands

Add your own ; commands with a reply each, such as ;rules or ;discord. See In-Game Commands.

Weather and time

Match a real city's weather and time sets the server's weather to the city's current weather (clear, rain, thunderstorm, fog or snow) and its time to the city's local hour, every few minutes while players are in the server. Type the city with its state or country; PulseCAD looks it up when you save. Turn off ER:LC's own weather cycle first. Weather data from MET Norway.

Playtime roles

Give a Discord role when a player reaches a number of hours in your server, for example 10 hours for "Regular". Checked once an hour; roles are only added, never removed. The player needs both their Discord and Roblox linked to their CAD account, and the bot needs Manage Roles with its role above the ones it gives.
